The European Parliament accepted to host and to be involved in the organization of the ‘United Nations International Conference of Civil Society in support of Israeli-Palestinian Peace’ on the 30-31 August 2007. This conference is organized by the ‘Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People’ that was founded in 1975, by resolution 3376 of  the UN General Assembly.

This Committee has always been promoting an anti-Israel agenda in contradiction with the pursuit of a peaceful agreement between Israeli and Palestinians that is defended by the European Parliament. EFI is particularly concerned by this Conference and is convinced that the organization of such a Conference in, and with the support, of the European Parliament is particularly counterproductive in a time of major improvement of the relations between the Israeli Government and the Fayyad Cabinet in the Palestinian Territories and therefore that it will send a wrong message to the region.
