EFI meets Knesset Delegation

Following the exchange of views with Mr. Tzachi HANEGBI, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee of the Knesset, at the European Parliament in Brussels, EFI organized a meeting between Mr. Marek SIWIEC, MEP, Vice-Chairman of the EU Parliament and Vice-Chairman of EFI and Mrs. Colette AVITAL, MP of the Knesset in order to discuss further on a common project regarding a visit to the extermination camp of Auschwitz in January 2008. Indeed, both agreed on organizing a delegation comprised of MEP’s and Members of the Knesset to the extermination camp of Auschwitz, Poland in January 2008. A visit of the city of Krakow has also been envisaged. The major aim of this visit is to strengthen the understanding and knowledge about the Holocaust, to show the importance the European Union is concerned about this issue and to strengthen the ties between the Members of Parliaments.
