On the 2^nd of October 2007, MEP Frederique Ries, Vice-Chairwoman of EFI, met members of the Jewish Community when invited at the “European Jewish Community Centre” (ECJJ) in Brussels. As a member of the Committee of Foreign Affairs at the European Parliament Mrs. Ries delivered a speech regarding the situation in the Middle-East and her perspective concerning the last events in the region.  Furthermore, Mrs. Ries lengthily insisted on the wide range of actions that EFI carry out within the European Parliament. She ended by thanking the Jewish Community for inviting her especially during the “Soukot” Jewish holiday and wished to continue on working to establish a deeper connection between the European Union and the Jewish community.
